In accordance with mission statement of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, the Music Ministry enhances the Worship Service as well as merge and discipline our talents in order to worship God more effectively through traditional hymns, spirituals, anthems, gospel and inspirational music. The music leaders strive to remain authentic in their interpretation of music from our heritage, while providing a contemporary approach to reach the spirit of the present age.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Choir Members: You are expected to attend choir rehearsal and sing in the choir during all services as directed by the Minister of Music. Please govern yourselves accordingly and adhere to the following schedule.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
8:00 a.m. ~ Meet in the choir room to obtain your choir robe; Warm-Ups begin.
8:15 a.m. ~ Musicians should be in place on their instrument.
8:20 a.m. ~ Choir transitions to the Choir Loft/Sanctuary and participates in the Praise & Worship Period along with the Praise Team.
10:45 a.m. ~ Meet in the rear of the Choir Loft; Musicians should be in place and on their instrument.
10:50 a.m. ~ Choir transitions to the Choir Loft/Sanctuary and participates in the Praise and Worship Period along with the Praise Team.
CHOIRS
The Senior Inspirational Gospel Choir (SIG) is open to all males and females ages 18 and up. This choir sings at the 8:30 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. worship services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. This choir prepares its music every Tuesday, except the Tuesday after the 3rd Sunday, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary. Membership to Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is required.
The Male Chorus is open to all males ages 18 and up. This Choir sings on the 4th Sunday of each month alternating between the 8:30 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. worship services. The Male Chorus prepares its music every Thursday evening from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the choir room. Membership to Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is required.
The Young Adult Choir is open to all males and females ages 18 to 45. The Young Adult Choir sings on the 4th Sunday of each month alternating between the 8:30 a.m. the 11:00 a.m. worship services. The Young Adult Choir prepares its music every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary. Membership to Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is required.
The Youth For Christ Choir is open to all males and females ages 8 to 13. The Youth For Christ Choir sings during the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services on the 2nd Sunday of each month. The YFC Choir prepares its music every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the choir room. Membership to Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is not required.
The Senior High Voices is open to all males and females ages 14 to 18. The Senior High Voices sing during the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services on the 2nd Sunday of each month. The SHV prepares its music every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the choir room. Membership to Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is required.
ORCHESTRA
The Worship Experience of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is enhanced by another dimension of its music ministry. The Orchestra accompanies the choir and congregation on the 1st Sunday of each month with the assistance of Louise Lassiter and Sharon Hart.
